SUMMARY OF PROFESSIONAL HISTORY

Much of my professional career has been spent working with teens and young adults as they travel through life's complicated issues.  I have spent the last few years working with individuals with eating disorders and supporting them in navigating the complexity of recovery.

WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO BECOME A THERAPIST?

I have always had a passion for connecting with and helping others. I love working with people and seeing them learn and create positive changes in their lives. There is nothing more rewarding than human connections and providing stepping stones for someone to heal. I feel lucky to be able to do something I am so passionate about!

WHATS YOUR THERAPEUTIC APPROACH?

My therapeutic approach is designed to be client-centered, where your unique needs, goals, and preferences are at the forefront of our work together. My approach is rooted in many evidence-based practices, with a strong emphasis on Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Every individual is unique, and I customize our sessions to meet your specific needs and goals. Building a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship is foundational to the success of our work together. I strive to create a safe and empathetic space where you feel heard and understood, enabling us to explore your concerns and goals openly and effectively. My ultimate goal is to provide you with the support and tools you need to thrive and lead a more fulfilling life.

WHAT KIND OF HOMEWORK OR ASSIGNMENTS DO YOU GIVE CLIENTS?

I believe homework assignments are an integral part of therapy, as they help reinforce what we discuss in our sessions and promote your progress between our meetings. However, please know that any assignments I provide will always be tailored to your individual needs and preferences.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY FIRST SESSION WITH YOU?

Your preparation is about creating an environment where you can engage fully and get the most out of our time together. Come prepared to be honest and vulnerable and have an open mindset. I'm here to support you every step of the way, and your active involvement is crucial for our collaborative work to be effective. If you have any questions about how to prepare or what to expect, please don't hesitate to reach out before our session.
