Lydia Harris

MSW intern

I understand that life's challenges can be overwhelming and hard to navigate through. I believe that connecting with our inner selves and core values is a way to develop psychological flexibility and empower us to overcome those challenges.

I am committed to providing a safe non-judgmental space where you can explore all your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Whether you are dealing with the weight of anxiety, the fog of depression, or seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, I'm here to support you individually in building resilience, developing effective coping strategies, and achieving a greater sense of peace of fulfillment in your life.

I also want to help you explore your inner world and understanding/healing the different parts of yourself that may be contributing to your struggles. Together, we can work towards creating lasting change and fostering a more meaningful and empowered life!

SUMMARY OF PROFESSIONAL HISTORY

Box Elder School District fall 2023-spring 2024: did individual and group therapies for all elementary schools in BESD. Was a job coach at live empowered from 2022-2023.

WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO BECOME A THERAPIST?

I want to help people see that they have the power to make changes in their lives and build the life they want despite life's challenges they may face. I want to help people see their worth, value, and that life does get better with the right tools to help them navigate through their struggles. I too have struggled with these things and therapy has helped me be able to find peace and joy through my challenges by discovering my worth and making choices that are aligned with my values.

WHATS YOUR THERAPEUTIC APPROACH?

ACT training, Anxiety regulation, learning IFS in school and experiencing it myself.

WHAT KIND OF HOMEWORK OR ASSIGNMENTS DO YOU GIVE CLIENTS?

Something to work on each week toward goals/values of your choosing.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY FIRST SESSION WITH YOU?

Be prepared to reflect on the parts of you that may need attention and be willing to give them what they need. Reflect on values and making changes in life that will align with those values.
